13th Annual USA Memory Championship
Location:  New York, New York

Description:  At the USA Memory Championship, “Mental Athletes” from around the country compete in brain-breaking events including the memorization of: a string of 500 random digits, two decks of shuffled cards, 99 names and faces, an unpublished poem with all its punctuation, and more. The winner will represent the United States of America at the World Memory Championships in China in November 2010.

Tom Chapin Family Concert

Tenafly Nature Center Annual Dinner Celebration

Partners in Survival Workshop

Junior League of Bergen County's StarPower! Workshop for 5th and 6th Grade Girls on Self-Esteem, Cyber Bullies and Conflict Resolution
Location:  Wyckoff, New Jersey

Description:  In it’s fourth year, the StarPower! workshop includes interactive sessions addressing Self-Esteem, Cliques, Cyber Bullies, Internet Communication Safety, and Social Interactions and Conflicts for 5th & 6th grade girls and their parents or guardians. Pre-registration through the JLBC website (www.thejlbc.org) is required and space is limited. Each girl must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Light refreshments will be served and t-shirts provided for the girls. Parents or guardians will be asked to sign a photo release.

Little Hands Big Heart

Description:  Rockleigh Country Club, 26 Paris Avenue, in Rockleigh, NJ. The event will feature a Children’s Fashion Show, showcasing young people modelling clothes to be sent to needy children of Armenia and Karabagh as well as a Silent Auction offering an array of items. The cost if $75 per person. All proceeds will benefit the AMAA Orphan and Child Care Program which reaches over 25,000 annually in Armenia and Karabagh. Thousands of children in Armenia and Karabagh live in conditions that pose great risk to their health and welfare; others face a daily struggle to meet the most basic needs of nutrition and hygiene. These children have been cared for through provisions of food, clothing, medical care, education, training in arts & crafts, music and sports.

Rutgers Day

Description:  People of all ages are welcome to attend Rutgers Day. It’s a chance to get a glimpse of exciting things happening at New Jersey’s state university. There will be free performances, tours, exhibits, hands-on activities, lectures, demonstrations, and more. The event will take place rain or shine on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. Some program highlights include an inter-squad Scarlet and White Football Game, along with several other NCAA spring games like women’s softball and lacrosse. Undergraduate Admissions also will run programs in the new Visitors Center. Other favorites include Zimmerli Family Day, Ag Field Day, the New Jersey Folk Festival, and the Faraday Lecture - a physics demonstration and lecture show for children of all ages. Rutgers Day is a great opportunity to learn something new, be entertained, participate in hands-on activities and meet fascinating people.
